JANSON Adds Key Staff Members
Sherri Headrick, PhD and Jess Smith
MANASSAS, V.A. (January 10, 2012) JANSON Communications Inc., (JANSON) announces the addition of Sherri Headrick, PhD to the position of Deputy Program Manager to head up the Huntsville, Alabama office. Jess Smith joins the Metro Washington D.C. strategic communications and branding firm as a Communications Strategist.
Sherri Headrick brings 16 years strategic communication experience in government, academic and corporate settings. In her role as JANSON’s lead role for its Huntsville-based operations, Headrick will be instrumental in providing senior communications strategy, management, training and support for the company’s existing clients in Huntsville as well as fostering new business opportunities and strategic initiatives. Her project lead, training and facilitation experience includes the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This backdrop provided an opportunity to work with senior leadership and gain an in-depth knowledge of government markets. She holds a B.A. from Lipscomb University, an M.A. from the University of Memphis and Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University. She recently earned her NASA Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Jess Smith more than 14 years of communications experience primarily within the Department of Defense. As an active duty Public Affairs officer in the Air Force she has worked on multiple high visibility efforts including the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Air Force 767 Tanker-Lease contract and international media relations in a warzone. She understands the active duty and contractor environments and how they interact and exchange information. She has successfully led diverse teams to develop and execute strategic communication plans and every tactical element assigned within those plans. As JANSON’s Communications Strategist, Jess will be involved across a myriad of contracts, bringing added value to JANSON’s offerings in strategy, communications and branding.
