Title Social Media Specialist
Location Washington DC area

 

JANSON Communications, an established strategic communications and branding agency with a focus on defense, aerospace, and government IT, is looking for a social media specialist.

In association with our strategic, creative, and production consultants, this position will lead the development, execution, and assessment of innovative, results-oriented digital marketing campaigns that leverage online communities, social media and related Web 2.0 tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an agency leader and subject matter expert for issues associated with social media marketing. Regularly exhibit thought leadership on social media marketing and related topics inside and beyond the agency
  • Identify social media and other online platforms for client messaging
  • Create and execute social media and related online strategies
  • Research online trends and conversations related to client messaging
  • Draft/post blog items and social media content
  • Maintain proactive contact with clients, offering and implementing new ways to meet client needs
  • Participate in client meetings/conference calls, and account management conversations
  • Conceptualize integrated campaigns utilizing social media platforms, websites and blog content/comments
  • Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience leveraging social media in a corporate, marketing or brand-building capacity
  • Wide-ranging familiarity with major social sites and services from a conceptual, marketing, technical, and feature-set perspective
  • Deep personal engagement in social media and online communities of all types
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills with a strong, independent work ethic
  • Creative thinking and immersion in emerging social media platforms, techniques and thinking
