Individual will be responsible for coordinating public affairs/media relations/writing support for the U.S. Army customer; for proactively reaching out to new and traditional media outlets in an effort to publicize good news stories that target key audiences; for contributing to social media accounts and content; and for coordinating media training. In addition, this individual will maintain a media database and track all media stories relevant to the customer. Travel is required. Responsibilities: Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
Education Requirements: BA in English, Communications, Journalism or related field. Required Skills: The candidate must be able to work with very little supervision and as a member of a very cohesive team of professionals. Basic understanding of the Army Public Affairs process is required. Position requires exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines; strong organizational skills; attention to detail and flexibility required. Writing samples will be required as part of the application. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word. Desired Skills: Prior experience in a customer service environment desired; 1-2 years experience as a non-government civilian providing direct support to a high-level military staff office preferred. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Point desired. Clearance: Must be a US citizen and hold or be capable of attaining a SECRET clearance. |
