The Challenge
Army Materiel Command (AMC) is the lead provider of materiel support for our Armed Forces. With almost 50 years of meeting the needs of Warfighters around the world, AMC is continuously adapting and providing our forces with the latest equipment and technological advancements. If a Warfighter shoots it, drives it, flies it, wears it, communicates with it or eats it, AMC provides it.
AMC is a multi-skilled team of more than 70,000 military personnel, civilians, and contractors worldwide dedicated to investing their expertise in providing for America’s Warfighters. When you see a Warfighter, you don’t always see the many people who provide the ideas, the technology, the equipment and the support; but AMC is there behind the scenes and on the front lines.
JANSON’s Approach
As part of the Base Realignment and Closure initiative (BRAC), AMC relocated its Headquarters to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. AMC selected JANSON Communications to design and develop a brand and messaging program to be displayed and integrated throughout the new facility. JANSON’s rapid response to the project enabled Phase One to be completed in less than 14 weeks, culminating at the Touchdown Ceremony and historic unveiling.
Janet Chihocky, JANSON Founder and CEO, commented “This milestone was made possible because of the individuals on the JANSON team, each of whom put their heart and soul into making this mission a complete success. Each member leveraged every ounce of their expertise in strategy, communications, research, messaging, branding, print, digital and environmental design, writing, production and fabrication to develop a world-class brand building program that mirrors AMC’s world-class mission.”
The Results
Driven by a decade at war and the evolving needs of our Warfighters, AMC is sustaining the fight we are in today while preparing for the threats we will face tomorrow. JANSON captured the depth and breadth of AMC’s mission through impactful visual components, captivating auditory experiences, relevant messaging content, state-of-the-art architectural design and the latest technological tools for interactive displays and kiosks. Collateral print included a six-color, multi-page brochure with an accompanying DVD enclosed.
Media coverage was extensive, celebratory events were a success, and visitors to the new AMC Redstone Headquarters were awed, informed and inspired by AMC’s mission and 50 years of accomplishments as depicted throughout a building that showcases a strong branding message.
